Our next meeting will be Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Lynchburg Public Library at 7:30 p.m.. Meetings are open to anyone interested in Amateur Radio.
The next event will take place on August 14, the annual Lynchburg Half Marathon on the riverside. This event is sponsored by the Lynchburg RoadRunners and includes a 5K event as well. It starts around 0800 and is usually finished up by around noone. KI4RIT is organizing for this event, please VOLUNTEER, come out, sweat a little and have fun! The Virginia Ten Miler will take place on August 25 this year, but the Amazing Mile will be run the night before by the river, downtown. Andre Agassi and Stefi Graf will be the guests of honor for the weekend, and a large turnout is expected. Ham volunteers won't be needed for the Friday night event, but we will need our approximately 50 volunteers for the race on Saturday. Check with WA4RTS to sign up.
